Five years before the World War II, the Mussolini Italy organized the second Football World Cup

The local team, with four Argentines in their starting line-up, reached the final match after easily defeating the United States, playing a tie-breaker game with Spain and barely defeating Austria in semifinals.

The Czech Republic made a goal 20 minutes into the second half, but Italy tied it with just 3 minute to go and with a goal by Schiavio in extra time, won it to became the second football World Champion.
